The Gabriel Family came to Detroit from New Orleans in the 1940s and brought along with them the charming and exhilarating musical tradition of second lining. In this Kresge 100 Pop-Up Performance, the Gabriel Family Brass Band leads the Kresge 100 audience through the halls of the Detroit Institute of Arts to the events space in front of Diego Rivera’s historical Detroit Industry Murals.
