Um, she was married in 1872 in West Virginia, which is where the dress was made.
I have a picture of my great-grand-aunt wearing it at a party, um, but that's all I know about it.
APPRAISER: Do you know when the party happened?
GUEST: I think around the early 1930s.
APPRAISER: So this is a style that was pretty common for wedding dresses of the period, uh, especially in America.
And it is a three-piece garment.
You have, uh, a skirt, an overskirt with a train, to make it a little more formal, and this lovely bodice.
This is this little lace and embroidered cotton collar and matching undersleeves that are still sewn into the dress.
And you often find these undersleeves unattached and unassociated with the garment.
So it's kind of great to see it altogether.
And with the family history, which is really wonderful.
I would put a retail value of about $800 to $1,200 on it.
